Okay, so I know that the Hydra Predacon can grow more heads each time they got cut off and breathe fire, but the pumping deadly gas thing, was that its natural ability or Shockwave's improvement to it?
Good question! Actually the pumping the deadly gas from the vents in its body was a power that it originally had back when Primus created it. But back then also be aware this thing wiped out ALL the Predacons on Cybertron... a beast with, at that point, thousands of heads, and pumping that toxic gas into the air practically poisoned the whole planet... it only ended when the last Predacons died and Primus himself pulled its plug...
What Shockwave added to the Hydra was the Dark Energon Cysts that would grow on every head and also on the main body of the creature. So that the severed heads would reanimate and the Hydra would be reanimated should it actually get killed by either the Autobots or the Predacons.

The body just kept getting larger as well albeit much slower than the rest of it... it was a Eldritch Horror in its time
